VBS 2011 – SonSurf

This years Vacation Bible School will be our best yet as we open our new location.

On those HOT summer days, there’s only one place to go—THE BEACH!

At the beach, where cool water meets a blue sky warm with sunshine, life seems easier. Children who have finished kindergarten through fifth grade will find it easy and natural to play—digging in the sand, floating in the waves, catching sand crabs and picking up shells.

As kids explore the wonders of the beach, they’ll also discover the Big Answers to their Big Questions about Jesus. Five essential Bible verses—including John 14:6—will help them understand who Jesus is and why they need Him. At SonSurf Beach Bash VBS, kids learn that there is only one truth: Jesus!

Home Groups Begin the Week of May 1

As we begin the second half of the Ephesians series this Sunday, it also marks the beginning of Home Groups. Home Groups meet throughout the week in various homes led by volunteers. They will last 6 weeks and the Ephesians sermon series is the basis for discussions at each group. Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

The back bone of what gets done at POCF is its volunteers. Every person stepping up and and finding their place in service to our community through the local church. From our children’s teachers, cleaning crews, sound techs, worship team, youth workers…well you get the picture… the face of eternity is changing in Anna as a result of you serving Christ in this community. We want to say thank you! Your staff is throwing a dinner in your honor on Sunday April 10th from 5:00PM – 7:00PM. It is free and the food will be provided by Tony from Tony’s Deli.

Please RSVP (if you haven’t already done so on Facebook) by emailing Pastor Phil with the number of people from your family attending and how many are children.

The Big Three Sermon Series: Starts Jan. 9th

We are excited to announce a new series that starts on January 9th, The Big Three: Money.Marriage.Ministry. In almost 2 years pastor Phil has yet to cover some of these issues. So, we will dive in deep as our new year begins and study these three topics from a Biblical perspective.

We will cover what the Bible has to say about our finances and how it is direct contrast to what you will hear EVERYWHERE ELSE.

We will talk about marriage and what the Bible says about the most intimate of all human relationships. We will look at how we can resurrect a dead or dying love relationship, how God can heal the wounded heart, and how understanding the roles the Bible describes in that relationship can set us up for success.

We will talk about fulfilling our purpose in bringing God glory this year by serving Him according to the gifts He has given us and how that makes us a stronger force for the Gospel in our community and world.

We hope you will join us this week as we take the next step in studying these three critical areas of our life and what the Bible has to say about them. Join us at 9:00am or 10:30am each Sunday.

Christmas Eve Services

This Christmas Eve our services will be centered on communicating the truth about the greatest gift ever given to anyone. Each year we are challenged to keep focus on what Christmas is all about, so we thought our Christmas Eve service should help that effort. We will see how the Gifts of Christmas are always changing. The Gifts of Christmas are represented by the lives of those who have trusted Christ. Jesus was God’s gift to mankind for salvation. Our hope is that you and those you invite will hear the simple and life transforming message of the Gospel this Christmas. Please join us for a fun, simple, and life changing experience this Christmas as we celebrate together.

New Series: New Home Groups Season

We are so excited to share with you some insights from the book of Philippians and know what we discuss in services will be taken to the next level in Home Groups. Starting November 7, 2010 we will launch a new series focusing on 6 key verses from Philippians. You won’t want to miss this series. Make your plans to attend each week of this 6 week series both on Sundays at 9:00am or 10:30am and in Home Groups throughout the week. We are excited to meet you and your family and look forward to having you worship at Pin Oaks!

Something Different For the 31st?

Instead of the usual Halloween rush, come out and enjoy a low key, totally FREE, family fun activity at Pin Oaks. From 3:00pm to 6:00pm we will host a Trunk or Treat with tons of candy filled fun for your kids in a family friendly environment. We will also be serving up some of our best Chili offerings from our annual Chili Cook Off. So, bring your kids for the candy/fun, have some chili, and meet some new friends. See you there!

The Hardest Thing We Do:

Confrontation is one of the hardest things we will learn, or need to learn, in our Christian journey. Confrontation happens in marriage, friendships, at work, school, in the living room, and anywhere there are people. Learning how to be constructive in your confrontation is the fine line between arguing to be “right” and seeking to be “make right!” Come this week to learn some simple principles to help you stop working with confrontation in a destructive way.
