Watching things grow can be a tedious and sometimes boring activity; this is especially true if that growth happens over long periods of time. Recently, my wife planted green beans in our home garden. Yep, she has a green thumb. It wasn’t the only thing she planted but it was the one thing that caught my attention. Why? Well, unlike the tomato plants green beans grow quickly. It is easy to measure how much they grow day by day just by looking at them. It is mesmerizing and induces a strange sense of excitement.
Growth in a church can be painfully slow at times. And then in other seasons… excitingly obvious. We are in a season of growth. It makes it so easy to be excited about our church and all that is happening around us. God is ON THE MOVE!
This week we added 8 new members to our church. They come to us from different backgrounds and with different gifts… but they all made Pin Oaks their home this week. Over time they will find their place and start serving (although many of them already have), they will make more friends, their kids will find great ministries geared for their specific ages. All in all, they will begin to grow through the many services we offer every single week.
We pray the growth will be obvious and quick. We pray it is clear to everyone they know and live around. Then when others start to see that their lives are different they will be given a chance to give someone or something credit. We pray they give God that credit and that they will tell everyone they know they are a part of Pin Oaks. Welcome to each of these families! We are thankful and celebrating your place in this family.
